On July 20, 1969, Neil Armstrong walked on the moon. What was the date 1 month, 1 day, and 1 year before?
In math we are studying measurement. I wonder....
What do A.M. and P.M. stand for when telling time? What's the difference? Where did the word 'Celsius' come from? What is the difference between Celsius and Farenheit? Wow... what a fun day we had! The students prepared oral presentations and shared interesting facts about their own culture. I know that we all learned something new today :) Thank you so much to those families who brought in delicious cultural food for us to try- what a treat!! We also had our 'Canada Proud' assembly. We are all proud to be Canadian and appreciate our wonderful country! Congratulations to all of the certificate winners for this month. Mrs. Gibb
Our next book report is due Friday, March 27. Keep reading at home!
In art, we are making pictures with circles. I made a butterfly. Nadine
Wishing everyone a happy 'Family Day.' (remember there is no school that day) Over the long weekend, practice your multiplication facts. Create your own multiplication and division word problems. There will be a test next week :)
Can anyone tell me how multiplication and addition are alike or different? Mrs. Gibb Canada's flag day is finally here! Today we wrote letters to the Prime Minister telling him what we appreciate about our country. Thank you Stephen Harper for making Canada a free country!!! I love what you did to make an excellent country. Well, bye, bye, for now. Canada did not have an official flag until February 1964. Many people made their own versions of the Canadian flag. Today we created our own Canadian flags. I put 13 hearts on mine to represent how much we love our provinces and territories.
Happy flag day everyone in Canada. We learned that the Canadian flag was raised in 1964 in February.
Today was Valentine's day! Almost everybody got somethin at the bake sale. Also, happy valentines day P.S. love on (rock on)

I am so excited that we are beginning to learn cursive writing today! I can't wait to write all of my work in cursive.
Don't forget to bring in your change to support Northwood's Bake Sale on Thursday, Feb. 14.
The students are working hard to memorize their multiplication facts! Use flash cards to practice at home. The students have made flashcards cards and have learned how to use dice and playing cards to play fun multiplication games. We are also working to improve 'Mad Minute' scores. Have Fun...keep practicing!! Mrs.Gibb
