Supplies...
In grade three, the students will be using the following supplies: -small scissors, lead pencils, erasers, coloured pencils, markers, glue sticks, ruler (30 cm). These supplies will be provided for the students to share in the classroom. Students may purchase their own personal supplies to be kept in a pencil case in their desk. Notebooks and Folders will be provided so there is no need to purchase binders or notebooks. When purchasing school supplies for your child, please keep in mind that there is limited space in their desks. Large pencil boxes and zip up binders often take up too much space. A Kleenex box donated to the class is greatly appreciated- Thanks in advance! |
Let's Celebrate!
If you would like to bring in food items to share with the class for special occasions, such as birthdays, please send in a note to the teacher or office prior to the special day. We promote healthy eating at school and also have many students with food allergies that are of concern. In our class this year we have students with nut and shellfish allergies. Bringing in special items to share instead of food can be a good alternative. |
Partners in Learning:The suggestions below will help your child.
- Help your child develop a love for reading by reading aloud. Reading aloud is valuable even when students can read on their own. - Help your child get a library card. Encourage your child to set aside a time for reading each day. - Establish a "home office" for your child where he/she can do homework. Perhaps you can supply some office supplies like paper, pencils, erasers, and so on. - Establish a container or place where your child puts all the items that must be taken to school. This helps children be better organized. - Ask your child to tell you about the schoolwork he/she brings home. Take time to look through schoolwork with your child. We are partners in your child's learning. Helping your child learn is important and fun for everyone. A good learning experience is built on a cooperative effort between home and school. With your participation in and out of the classroom, we can look forward to a productive, creative and fun year together. |
Reminders:
*STAR folders go home and come back to school each day. This folder contains the agenda, homework, and notes to go home.
*The Agenda should be signed each night and returned the following morning
*Students must bring a pair of in-door shoes to be worn at school (running shoes are a good choice)
Each month students who demonstrate the character trait of the month will be chosen to receive a certificate at our monthly school assembly.
