Living and Working in Ontario
We will be learning to describe and compare types of communities living in Ontario and describe the types of land and how it is used in Ontario (human wants, needs, and jobs).
We have been using a variety of maps, readings and discussions to explore the types of communities and physical land regions in our province. We are also learning about the natural resources and industries found in Ontario and how they affect our economy.

Heritage and Identity
We will identify some of the communities in Canada around the beginning of the nineteenth century and describe their relationships to the land and to each other.
We will compare ways of life during the 1800's to our present day and will investigate some of the major challenges that the Early Settlers and First Nations faced during that time period in Canada.
